This is the "river" under the Miraflores Bridge when it is really low tide. There are around a dozen times a year when the total change is about 19 feet (-1.5 to +17.5.)

Twenty five years before the EXXON VALDEZ there was PETROKING. PetroKing was built in 1953 and scrapped in 1975; her beam was 92'4". The lock is 100' wide.
